Synopsis

Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) are actors living and performing in Tehran. After their old flat becomes damaged, the young couple are forced to move into a new apartment. However, once relocated, a sudden eruption of violence linked to the previous tenant of their new home dramatically changes the couple’s life, creating a simmering tension between husband and wife.

Winner of the Acadamy Award for Best Foreign Picture, and Best Actor and Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival, the Salesman is written and directed by Asghar Farhadi, the Acadamy Award nominated director of A Seperation.
