Ruka is a young girl whose parents are separated and whose father works in an aquarium. When two boys, Umi and Sora, who were raised in the sea by dugongs, are brought to the aquarium, Ruka feels drawn to them and begins to realize that she has the same sort of supernatural connection to the ocean that they do. Umi and Sora's special power seems to be connected to strange events that have been occurring more and more frequently, such as the appearance of sea creatures far from their home territory and the disappearance of aquarium animals around the world. How Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol and created a tradition.
Dan Stevens stars as Charles Dickens in this incredible and imaginative true story about the creation of one of the most famous books of all time, A Christmas Carol.
Facing pressure upon pressure with looming debt, a feckless father (Jonathon Pryce) and recent critical failures, Charles Dickens confronts his past and uses real-life inspiration and a vivid imagination to conjure up fantastic characters including Ebenezer Scrooge (played by screen legend Christopher Plummer) and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future – not to mention the immortal words, “Bah Humbug!”
The result was his now classic Christmas tale – and the revival of the holiday of Christmas itself.
"Dan Stevens... inhabits the character of Dickens beautifully." Washington Post
"... Plummer is such a sly, comic delight as Scrooge..." The Hollywood Reporter
