Hiroshi Abe and Nanako Matsushima star in an adaptation of mystery writer Keigo Higashino's novel of the same title.

A woman from Shiga prefecture, near Kyoto, was found strangled to death in a Tokyo apartment belonging to a labourer named Mutsuo Koshikawa. However, police hit a brick wall when they fail to find any links between the two. Enter Kyoichiro Kaga, a peculiar detective called on to solve mysterious cases. His investigation leads him to Hiromi Asai, a celebrity theatre director whose glamourous world seems far removed from the case. Just how strongly can a slim thread bind people’s fates together?
