Egotistical Professor Henry Higgins bets his friend Colonel Pickering that he can transform unrefined Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn) into a lady.

Young aristocrat Freddy falls in love with the sophisticated new Eliza, and as she becomes less reliant upon Higgins, he realises he can’t live without her.
