ANOH - The Moor
A woman is approached by the father of her murdered childhood friend to help investigate the haunted moor he believes to be his son’s final resting place. With the help of two others, they find more than just the ghost of dead children – something dark and evil stirs beneath their feet.
Harnessing the ominous shroud of the vast English moors of the Yorkshire region, this creeping tale of guilt, grief, and obsession is as visceral and compelling as the harsh landscape is unforgiving. Pushing the boundaries of folk horror (and found footage format) into Lovecraftian territory, the atmosphere is thick with dread. Excellent performances from the small cast, in particular Sophia La Porta, Elizabeth Dorma-Phillips, and Bernard Hill, leading to a profoundly horrifying epilogue that fuses the icky otherworldliness firmly to the tendrils of genuine nightmare fuel.
