We will be regularly updating this page with any updates regarding COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) & how we will be handling the situation as it develops. 



Monday, 23/03/2020 (COVID-19 Update)

In response to the unprecedented threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in compliance with last night’s federal mandate in regards to non-essential social gatherings, we have temporarily closed all our cinema locations until further notice.

We regret that this unavoidable closure will have an impact on both our employees and our communities. ?This is a time of great uncertainty and whilst we do not know what the future holds, we are confident that we’ll emerge from this stronger than before.

Patrons who have booked online for future sessions will be automatically refunded and receive an email confirmation in the coming days. Patrons seeking refunds for in-person bookings should CONTACT US with details on your purchase and we will advise accordingly.

Although our cinemas will be closed, our website will remain in operation to provide you with up-to-date information. Customers who wish to purchase Gift Cards can still do so via our website with the comfort of knowing they are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.

We will continue to process online Club Dendy memberships and renewals. We understand that some of our customers are concerned regarding the status of their Club Dendy membership, loyalty offers, and incentives. We know that times like these require flexibility and due to the uncertain nature of the current environment, we will review the status of all memberships and member offers once business returns to a normalised state.

Our customer support team remains in operation in a limited capacity and we’d be happy to assist you with any urgent enquiries.

Wednesday, 18/03/2020 (COVID-19 Update)

Following the Government’s further restrictions on non-essential social gatherings, we have made some further changes to protect the health and safety of our patrons and staff at Dendy Cinemas. 

A reminder that by the nature of our product and design, our venues feature smaller auditoriums and avoids large crowds.

We have already taken steps to reduce our seat count to no more than 50% of seats available per auditorium, and in our larger auditoriums, we have set the maximum capacity at 100.

We have also implemented staggered seating procedures to facilitate social distancing within our auditoriums.

Dendy Cinemas, like many other local businesses, is dealing with unprecedented challenges and we thank our customers for their continued support and understanding during this difficult time.

Due to the uncertain nature of the current environment, Session Times will be released on a daily basis.

Tuesday, 17/03/2020 (COVID-19 Update)

Dendy Cinemas is open for business and we continue to welcome customers into our venues. Movie sessions are continuing as scheduled, and any changes will be communicated to ticket holders.

We have implemented a range of precautionary measures designed to protect the health and safety of our patrons and staff at Dendy Cinemas.

- We encourage our customers to use cashless payment options in all of our cinemas to reduce contact points. This includes using "tap & go" at the box office and candy bar or booking online.

- We have taken steps to reduce our seat count to no more than 50% of seats available per auditorium, as well as implementing staggered seating procedures. 

- We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of all high traffic areas and commonly-touched surfaces throughout the day.

- We have updated standard procedures for staff with instructions on thorough and frequent hand-washing.

- We encourage both our staff and patrons to stay home and self-isolate if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms or have traveled overseas in the last 14 days.

- We are closely monitoring updates and recommendations from Government Authorities and Industry bodies.

Monday, 16/03/2020 (COVID-19 Update)

Amidst growing concerns about the spread of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) we aim to keep our customers updated on additional steps that Dendy Cinemas is taking to keep our venues and customers safe.

In our communication last week, we outlined the additional steps we are taking to ensure our cleaning and hygiene protocols are even more rigorous.

In light of the government's mandate for public gatherings, we are taking steps to reduce the seating occupancy in our auditoriums to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

By the nature of our product and design, our venues feature an intimate environment and avoids large crowds.

We are taking steps to reduce our seat count to no more than 50% of seats available per auditorium, as well as implementing staggered seating procedures. While we encourage maintaining social distance in our auditoriums, we will not prevent families and friends from sitting next to each other.

To ensure staggered seating procedures, we have turned off allocated seating in all of our standard cinema auditoriums until further notice.

For now, we continue to operate all our locations as we strive to offer our guests a safe and secure setting to enjoy with these enhanced procedures in place, to help curtail the spread of COVID-19. Friday, 13/03/2020 (COVID-19)

The safety and security of our customers and team members is, and will always be, our highest priority. We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. 

In response to the growing fears around the spread of COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus), we have taken additional steps to ensure our cleaning and hygiene protocols are even more rigorous:

- Our end-of-day cleaning team is disinfecting all hand-contact surfaces in guest-accessible areas including but not limited to: cupholders, tables, door handles, counters, railings, benches, booths, faucets, lift buttons.
 
- In addition to the end-of-day cleaning, our cinema staff is increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of all high traffic areas and commonly-touched surfaces throughout the day.
 
- We have increased the frequency of our bathroom checks and spraying disinfectant on all surfaces.
 
- Staff will be frequently washing their hands throughout their shifts with soap.

You can be assured we are doing everything possible to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff. Dendy Cinemas is actively following the NSW Government, Health Services and WHO with respect to public gatherings and spaces.
