MIDSOMMAR – DIRECTOR’S CUT is one of longer director’s cuts released, adding nearly 25 minutes of extra scenes to the film. The 147 minutes theatrical cut was edited down from a 225 minute behemoth to tighten up the pacing and be more audience friendly. This version of the movie is closer to director Ari Aster’s original vision for the film, the majority of the added/extended scenes serve to add atmospheric aspects and character nuances, resulting in a more meditative and effective version of the Theatrical Edition
