Synopsis: Free to Leave is a story about guilt and lies: for a brief moment, upright stationmaster Thomas Hudetz is distracted by the flirtatious behaviour of a girl, Anna, resulting in a catastrophic train accident. To escape blame, Thomas and Anna lie, setting off a chain of events, which will change their lives forever. The guilt and lies they have in common drive Thomas and Anna into an obsessive love that changes lives dramatically – and not just theirs! This film was nominated for a Golden Leopard Award in 2007.
