Showing the latest and best in quality film releases, the Dendy is the only cinema in Brisbane that offers a world of appreciation for finer cinema goers. Watch this website for information on gala events, special screenings and premieres to be held at Dendy George Street.

Located in the heart of the city at 346 George St, the Dendy Cinema is one of the few authentic 1940s cinemas left standing. Its history begins in the 1940s as the Lyceum Cinema.

Affectionately known as the 'Bug House' because of its name, it was reopened as The George Cinema in the 1960s until Dendy saw its value and charm and reopened the cinema in the beginning of 1995.

Maintaining the original charm of the building, the life-size statue of Augustus Caesar, the First Roman Emperor (27BC - AD14), heir and successor to Julius Caesar, stands in the foyer as welcoming sentinel and a reminder of the all-but-gone old style cinema houses.

$5 all day Saturday and Sunday
