Frequently Asked Questions

Booking Tickets

1) Check your spam box for the confirmation advice. Many email service providers have stringent spam filters which may prevent you from receiving confirmation emails. To prevent this from happening in future, simply mark emails from Dendy as safe messages in your email settings. 2) Alternatively, if you've booked your tickets successfully but have not received your email confirmation, you can simply print or write your booking reference number number down and quote this at the box office OR if you have booked using a credit card you can simply bring in the credit card you booked with when picking up your tickets. You do not need your email confirmation to pick up your tickets.

At periods of high traffic, it might take a bit longer for the website to contact the cinema and reserve your seats. Please be patient and do not press refresh while the website is busy contacting the cinema.

There are a number of reasons why you may not be able to select your seats. 1) The cinema may not have allocated seating available. 2) You may be running an older version of Java. Ensure you have the most up to date version of Java installed. The seat selection page requires this software. If you do not have java, a seat will be automatically allocated for your booking. 3) Some browsers are unable to access the java applet and therefore seating cannot be chosen. If you do not have java, a seat will be automatically allocated for your booking.

General

The cinema will open 10-15 minutes before the start of the first session of the day. It will close 5-10 minutes after the last session ends for the day. Opening times vary from week to week. For session times click here.

A NFT (or 'No Free Tickets') listing on a session means that you are not able to use free ticket passes for this particular session. Free tickets can include (but are not limited to) tickets gained from Club Dendy frequency cards, tickets gained from renewing a Club Dendy membership or complimentary tickets. Free tickets that can not be used for NFT films will be labelled accordingly in the terms and conditions on the ticket itself. Movie vouchers or gift cards that have been purchased are not 'free tickets' and CAN be used for NFT sessions.

Purchasing tickets in advance guarantees you a seat for each ticket purchased, however, we do not have allocated/or reserve seating policy for all sessions. Highly popular films will generate longer lines as shows sell out quickly. We recommend you arrive 15-20 minutes before start time so you can select your favourite seat.

Please see our Classification Ratings page for detailed information from the Classification Board.

Reel Bubs

REEL BUBS occurs every Thursday morning. It's the first session of the day for SELECTED FILMS ONLY.

Tickets are available to purchase before your visit but generally there will be seats available on the morning of the screening.

Tickets to Reel Bubs sessions are $10.00 which includes complimentary morning tea ($4 extra for 3D). Children under 5 are free.

The Dendy website will have up to date movie listings. You can also sign up to the e-newsletter to receive weekly REEL BUBS information.

Everyone is welcome at our REEL BUBS sessions. These sessions are designed to make the cinema experience extra-convenient for carers and children however sessions are open to all public.

Night lights are available on request and the sound is monitored so that it is not too loud to startle the babies. It is loud enough that you are able to hear the film over the baby sounds. Other patrons do not mind if your baby cries because at any given time there could be several crying babies. Everyone is in the same situation so they are not bothered by it. Parents are free to get up and walk in the aisles or foyer area with baby.

The films screened for REEL BUBS sessions are new release films of all varieties to suit all tastes.

Strollers will be placed in the foyer, as current cinema fire restrictions do not allow the exit doors to be covered. We recommend you bring a baby capsule rather than a stroller.

Dendy Cinemas does not have an age range for REEL BUBS, however only children under 5 receive free admission.
